Disability Screener
This person will be responsible for making initial contact with potential claimants, explaining the benefits of enrollment in a federal disability program, collecting documentation, and conducting initial screening of potential claimants.
- Contacts potentially eligible members through outbound telephone calls to inform them of potential eligibility for federal disability program and explains benefits of enrollment.
- Contacts MCO members who have expressed interest in learning more about federal disability programs and explains benefits of enrollment.
- Receives inbound calls from members interested in learning more about federal disability programs and explains benefits of enrollment.
- Conducts initial screening of potential claimants and assigns probability of successful disability application.
- Sends claimants all required forms and requests for documentation, follows up on any unreturned documentation, and organizes documentation into initial application.
- Works with Disability Advocates to ensure seamless transistion of application process from Screener to Advocate.
- Delivers an error-free and properly completed application file to the Disability Advocates.
- Maintains current knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
- Attends all company mandated training and contributes to the overall advancement of company goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
Disability Advocate
This person will be responsible for providing advocacy and representation services to individuals applying for disability benefits from the Social Security Administration. We are seeking seasoned Advocates with experience in representing individuals at all levels of the Social Security Disability process. Strong preference for candidates who have passed the SSA Non-Attorney Representation Demonstration Project exam.
Qualified candidates will have a BS/BA in an appropriate discipline and a minimum of 2 years related work experience in a social services or case management role. A comprehensive working knowledge of physical and mental impairments, vocational factors and provisions of Title II/Title XVI Federal Social Security law are a MUST. Candidates who have passed the SSA Non-Attorney Representation Demonstration Project exam, highly preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish, English/French, English/Portuguese) helpful, but not required.
These positions are based in our Miami, Florida offices. Minimal relocation assistance is available to qualified non-local candidates. SSC offers competitive salary and a lucrative benefits package.
