Golden Touch® provides the members of participating Medicare Advantage health plans with a social service education and advocacy benefit that will help members gain a greater understanding of what public or private benefits and services are available to them. A comprehensive program for all health plan members, Golden Touch® includes a Social Service CheckUp® to screen for eligibility for programs such as energy or telephone assistance, transportation and nutrition, to name a few.
On behalf of the sponsoring health plan, SSC will:
- Interview the Medicare Advantage member to determine what, if any, social programs he/she is currently participating in and what programs he/she would likely qualify (Social Service CheckUp®).
- Educate the member on the financial or in-kind benefits those social programs offer.
- Advocate on behalf of the Medicare Advantage member by assisting them through the application process for those programs, including the completion of any required applications.
- Coordinate any required annual or periodic recertification procedures that may be required by the program sponsors.
There is no cost to the health plan member to apply for these programs and health plan benefits are not affected.
